BRS Enters 26 Tonne Fridge Market
30 July 2005
BRS have made a significant investment in strengthening their fleet offering with the introduction of twenty 26 tonne refrigerated vehicles.
The high-specification 26 tonne fridges came onto the BRS fleet in late May, with more to follow in the very near future.
The 6x2 chassis cabs are all Volvo FM9’s with 300 brake horse power and a 9 tonne front axle to help stop overloading. Air suspension at the rear and steel at the front, along with a 500 litre fuel tank with separate 90 litre tank for the refrigeration unit come as standard fit on these new vehicles. Crucially, all of the vehicles have in-cab temperature printers, allowing the operator not only to measure and monitor body temperature from loading to final delivery, but to give guaranteed proof to their end customer.
The Solomon bodies are all fitted with Carrier Supra 950Mt units with dual compartments. What’s more, with an overall length of 28’ 6”, are capable of carrying up to 16 pallets.
The sliding bulkhead allows operators to create 7 metre compartments at each end of the body, whilst a 1500kg column taillift, with high visibility hinged side gates, rear sliding shutters and a side door, with alarmed fold-out steps, give the driver quick and safe access to the load in each compartment.
The vehicles are available for immediate hire through the Truck Rental fleet and can also be supplied on a Contract Hire basis. Bookings and enquiries can be made 24-7 through BRS’ national number 08705 325325.
